Список запрещенных книг - перечень книг, чтение которых римско-католическая церковь запрещает верующим, угрожая им в противном случае отлучением.Впервые такой список запрещенных книг был издан в 1559 году по указанию римского папы Павла IV, последнее издание вышло в 1948 г. С 1917 года списки издавались ватиканской конгрегацией священной канцелярии. Они включали многие лучшие творения человеческой мысли. В 1968 г. был официально отменен.Рассуждая специально о религии римской, он [ Макиавелли ] делает тот вывод, что религия была основанием благополучия Рима. Она установила в нем добрые порядки. Вообще Макиавелли находит, что религия языческая с точки зрения государственной безусловно лучше христианства. К последнему он относится пренебрежительно, почти враждебно, так что его произведения имели основание попасть в знаменитый index librorum prohibitorum. (ЖМНП, 1911, № 1.)Ужели имеется в виду издать в России index libtorum prohibitorum, как на Западе? Там этот индекс представляет из себя книгу в 900 страниц с очень любопытными отзывами. (А. Ф.
